Acne is an umbrella term that refers to a variety of skin conditions of different etiologies that may occur secondary to a lesion or dysfunction of the sebaceous or pilosebaceous glands. This condition commonly occurs in young people, especially during puberty. It is characterized by the appearance of comedones (black heads) and papulopustules (pimples) caused by the inflammation and overinfection of the comedones, and nodulous elements related to the evolution in depth of the papulopustules.
Acne appears as a result of an overproduction of sebum by sebaceous glands causing the pores to block. These blocked pores then become infected. The sebum production is regulated by sexual hormones, and as a consequence acne occurs mainly during puberty.
The prostate is a big gland of approx. 20 grams, which produces both external and internal secretion; it is an accessory organ of the male reproductive system, which surrounds the upper part of the urethra. Because of this, any disease of this gland produces symptoms that affect urination. Enlargement of the prostate occurs most commonly in men over 50. This leads to a number of symptoms: frequent urination (especially at night), difficult and often painful urination, and discharge in a thin stream.
A thorough medical examination is necessary to confirm these symptoms because prostate hypertrophy may indicate the presence of a serious condition (e.g. cancer), as well.
The thyroid gland produces hormones and iodine complexes that are essential to the proper functioning of cells. If the gland produces too much hormones (hyperthyroidism), the result can be an acceleration of bodily functions. If a less than normal quantity of hormones is produced (hypothyroidism), bodily functions become slower.
Hyperthyroidism is associated with symptoms such as anxiety, sleeping disorders, weight loss (although the appetite increases), palpitations, development of goiter, and ocular protrusion (exophthalmia).
Hypothyroidism symptoms include: tiredness, lethargy, depression, memory disorders, weight gain, constipation, dry skin and hair, development of goiter, and profuse menstruation (hypermenorrhea).
Nails are a reflection of the general health. Dry, fragile, broken, slowly growing, thick, yellowish, falling or discolored nails usually indicate a latent disease.
Low calcium, vitamin C and vitamin E levels, as well as anemia and mycoses affect the health of nails.
The joint effect of the EVENING PRIMROSE
capsules, which contain Evening Primrose oil and vitamin E (1 capsule three times a day), and the BIOSPECTRUM OMEGA revitalizing drops, which contain vitamin C and essential microelements in the form of bio-complexes (20 drops twice daily), contribute to the treatment of nail diseases.
This term refers to a physical dependency to alcohol. The World Health Organization considers alcoholism the 3rd top public health problem in terms of seriousness. Symptoms include: the subject seizes every opportunity to drink, alcohol becomes more important than family or carrier, and needs more and more alcohol to achieve the same effect, even before breakfast. It can lead to complications such as: gastritis, hepatic cirrhosis, polyneuritis, alcohol-induced encephalopathy, dementia, cardiomyopathy, depression, anxiety disorders and suicidal behavior. A gradual loss in appetite, due to the caloric content of the alcohol, leads to malnutrition.
Anemia is defined as a decrease of the hemoglobin concentration in peripheral arteries below 13 g/100 ml and 11 g/100 ml in men and in women, respectively. It should be noted that in some types of anemia the number of red blood cells remains unchanged, but hemoglobin structure is defective. If the anemia has a slow evolution, the human body can adapt without producing any symptoms. The hemoglobin concentration can decrease up to half without producing any clear signs of the disease.
Anemia often can also be a symptom of a number of underlying diseases.
Symptoms include: weakness, tiredness, dizziness, clearly anemic gingiva and eyelids, tachycardia, hemorrhage of the tongue and in the oral cavity, numbness of legs, nausea and diarrhea.
Angina pectoris is a syndrome characterized by episodes of constrictive precordial pain in the chest accompanied by anxiety and a feeling of imminent death. This pain is characterized by the following: it is located in the retrosternal region, irradiating to the left upper limb, neck and mandible; occurs upon exertion, emotion, cold, or after meals; lasts for a couple of minutes and rapidly disappears upon the administration of nitroglycerin. Angina pectoris is almost always caused by atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries.
Dietary supplements can be taken together with prescribed medication, but only after prior consultation with the treating physician.
Anxiety is a diffuse feeling of imminent danger associated with a state of agitation. In severe cases, specific neurovegetative reactions may occur (feeling of constriction, respiratory and cardiac discomfort, increased respiratory rate and pulse, general indisposition and fear).
The panic attack has a sudden onset, without a close connection to reality, and implies an association of a strong feeling of fear (thanatophobia or fear of death, fear of losing one’s mind and fear of committing a violent act) with vegetative symptoms. The sudden onset is associated with symptoms such as palpitations, chill sweating, trembling, suffocation or feeling of being strangled, chest pain, nausea, shivering and hot flushes).
Arrhythmias are disorders of heart rhythm that, according to the underlying mechanism, may be classified as disorders of the cardiac impulse generation, or disorders of impulse conduction, or a combination of both. Arrhythmia is often associated with tachycardia (faster and stronger heart beats).
Symptoms include: stronger than usual heart beats, tiredness, dizziness, chest pain and a strong feeling of discomfort.
This disease is often very severe, therefore dietary supplements are not replacing, but merely completing the treatment prescribed by the doctor.
Magnesium and manganese play an important role in the prevention of the disease by facilitating the coordination of the nervous functions and heart muscle functions. 20 drops twice a day of BIOSPECTRUM OMEGA should be taken.
A skin burn is an injury to the skin or mucous membrane caused by heat or other physical factors such as radiations, cold or electricity. Four degrees of skin burns are distinguished in terms of their severity. First (I) degree burns: erythema and painful tumefactions; second (II) degree burns associated with blisters; third (III) degree burns: the formation of blisters is associated with cutaneous necrosis and nervous lesions; and fourth (IV) degree burns, which is the carbonization of a body part. The size of the burned area is also of great importance. Skin burns must be treated by a physician!
