The prostate is a big gland of approx. 20 grams, which produces both external and internal secretion; it is an accessory organ of the male reproductive system, which surrounds the upper part of the urethra. Because of this, any disease of this gland produces symptoms that affect urination. Enlargement of the prostate occurs most commonly in men over 50. This leads to a number of symptoms: frequent urination (especially at night), difficult and often painful urination, and discharge in a thin stream.
A thorough medical examination is necessary to confirm these symptoms because prostate hypertrophy may indicate the presence of a serious condition (e.g. cancer), as well.
The thyroid gland produces hormones and iodine complexes that are essential to the proper functioning of cells. If the gland produces too much hormones (hyperthyroidism), the result can be an acceleration of bodily functions. If a less than normal quantity of hormones is produced (hypothyroidism), bodily functions become slower.
Hyperthyroidism is associated with symptoms such as anxiety, sleeping disorders, weight loss (although the appetite increases), palpitations, development of goiter, and ocular protrusion (exophthalmia).
Hypothyroidism symptoms include: tiredness, lethargy, depression, memory disorders, weight gain, constipation, dry skin and hair, development of goiter, and profuse menstruation (hypermenorrhea).
The degenerative corneal disease, also called Junius-Kuhnt syndrome, is a senile exudative and hereditary macular degeneration with a pseudotumoral aspect and an atherosclerotic background. It may cause blindness. Symptoms include: a blind spot in the center of the visual field, distorted images of the objects (straight lines may look wavy) and blurry color vision. This condition also occurs in hypertension and diabetes mellitus as a secondary effect.
Free radicals supposedly play an important role in the etiology of the disease, which are extremely harmful to the entire human body.
Vitamin C, zinc (contained in BIOSPECTRUM OMEGA, which is to be taken in doses of 20 drops twice a day), vitamin E and vitamin F (contained in EVENING PRIMROSE with Evening Primrose seed extract; 1 capsule three times a day) have an antioxidant effect.
In this disease, cold can cause vasomotor seizures localized strictly at the level of limb extremities, especially the fingers. It is characterized by a paroxysmal local constriction of the blood vessels followed by a paralytic dilatation of the said vessels with a capillary stasis. Two phases are distinguished: the syncope phase associated with a discoloration of the fingers, and the asphyxia phase associated with local and painful cyanosis.
Symptoms may occur as a result of cold, stress, or as a side effect of the administration of certain nasal drops or drugs used to treat cardiac conditions (beta-blockers) and headache (cephalalgia).
Renal calculi develop by precipitation of minerals from urine in the kidney, caused by an increased urine concentration. In terms of composition, the most common are the oxalate calculi, but they can also be of uric acid salts.
The disease may be hereditary, the result of a urinary tract infection or a disturbed blood calcium balance.
Kidney diseases are often caused by autoimmune reactions or bacterial infections (glomerular nephropathies or pyelonephritis).
Symptoms include: water retention, nausea, vomiting, appetite loss, back pain, bloody urine and pus.
Magnesium and vitamin C reduce the risk of oxalate renal calculi. Therefore, the BIOSPECTRUM OMEGA revitalizing drops are recommended (20 drop twice a day).
Diabetes mellitus is caused by the failure of the body to produce enough insulin, which results in increased blood sugar levels. Two types of diabetes are distinguished: 1) Juvenile diabetes with onset during youth that requires insulin treatment; and 2) not insulin-dependent diabetes with onset at older ages (over 40), which is a condition characterized by a normal insulin production, but in which the interaction of the insulin with its specific receptors is altered. In most of the cases, this type of diabetes occurs in overweight or obese people, but heredity also plays a special role in the occurrence of the disease.
